BIRMINGHAM, AL (WSFA) - A new report out Sunday estimates at least half of Alabama students struggle with reading.

The Birmingham News analyzed the 2008-2009 Alabama high school graduation exams, which show 130 public high schools in the state either failed reading or were classified as "borderline" failing.

The study is based on 11th graders' performance on the exam.

The analysis involved 367 high schools statewide.
