Prattville Loses in state championship game

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Reuben Carson rushed for 89 yards, including a 58-yard touchdown, and Hoover defeated Prattville 28-23 for the Super 6 Championship on Friday night.

Four different players scored touchdowns in the first half for Hoover, which held on in the second for the win. Maudrecus Humphrey's 41-yard TD catch from Ryan Carter put Hoover ahead 7-0. Leon Carlton then returned a fumble 10 yards for a touchdown. Carlton would later seal the game with an interception.

Desmond Haley led Prattville with 105 yards on 15 carries. Hoover won its sixth state title of the decade, as it played Prattville for the fourth time in the Super 6 final.
