Jury: Former Dothan doc sexually abused 2 patients

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - A former Dothan emergency room doctor has been convicted of sexually abusing two female patiente.s The jury returned two guilty verdicts against 57-year-old Gregory Johns on Thursday after two days of deliberations.

Dothan police arrested Johns in September and December 2008, on two different felony sex abuse charges. They said he had inappropriate conduct with two women during separate visits to the Southeast Alabama Medical Center emergency room in 2006 and 2007.

The Napier Field resident was not sentenced Thursday and will remain free on his original $40,000 bond. Circuit Court Judge Brad Mendheim is scheduled to sentence Johns on Feb. 1.
