Billy Brown corruption trial dismissed

WSFA 12 News has new details in the corruption charges against Autauga County Coroner Billy Brown.  The Attorney General's office confirms the case has been dismissed.

Back in 2007, the Attorney General's Office alleged Brown took thousands of dollars from a jail fund and used them for his personal benefit.

The indictment issued by a grand jury had a technical error, identifying Brown as a Deputy Sheriff when he was actually the jail warden.

The Attorney General's Office plans to re-submit the case to another grand jury with the correction.
