Capitol Heights Teacher a Class Act

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - There's definitely an art to teaching.   Ms. Evelyn Shoults proves that everyday at Capitol Heights Junior High School in Montgomery.    "I enjoy everything from teaching them how to shade, to art history, and when they see me get excited about something, they get excited about it, " said Shoults.

She graduated from Auburn-Montgomery and has been teaching for 3 years.   Art is her passion and she's giving some 7th, 8th, and 9th graders a look into a whole new world.    "They're at that age where they're starting to figure out what they enjoy, and being able to nurture that, even if its not in the arts, is a real blessing."

And she says in her classroom, the learning goes both ways.   "They teach me so much, I'm a student in my own classroom."    Her masterpiece isn't a drawing or painting, it's the work she does with kids in her classroom everyday.   Congratulations Ms. Evelyn Shoults from
Capitol Heights Junior High in Montgomery, you're a real Class Act.
