MONTGOMERY, AL. (WSFA) - Alabama Power is updating its Lake Conditions Alert this Friday. Because of heavy rains spillway gates at Henry, Logan Martin, Lay, Mitchell and Jordan dams on the Coosa River have been opened to help manage flows and rising lake levels.

On the Coosa, Weiss Lake is expected to rise to near 563 feet on Saturday or Sunday, while Logan Martin could rise to near 464 feet tonight or early Saturday.

On the Warrior River, Smith lake is expected to rise over the next two days, peaking near 512 feet around Sunday.

Alabama Power continues to monitor the situation.
