ASHFORD, Ala. (AP) - Authorities in Ashford say two men were hospitalized after their pickup truck was struck by a train at a rail crossing.
Ashford Police Chief Jim Stanley said the collision happened Saturday night when the truck was driving over a railroad crossing on Old U.S. Highway 84. Stanley says the truck was dragged through two intersections.
Stanley says the driver was taken from the truck right after rescue workers arrived, but the passenger was trapped for more than 30 minutes. He says neither had life-threatening injuries.
He says the conductor was shaken up, but had no injuries.
