BIRMINGHAM, AL (WSFA) - Governor Bob Riley and state legislators met Monday to discuss a plan to fix traffic problems on Highway 280.

The plan would introduce an elevated toll highway from Interstate 459 to Double Oak Mountain. Then from Interstate 459 going towards Red Mountain Expressway, the toll road would come back down and merge to covert six lanes into ten lanes.

Riley says the $800-million project would be paid for with toll money and could be completed within three years of its start date.
