MUSCLE SHOALS, AL (WSFA) -  Salvation Army leaders are in shock after a man robbed one of their bell ringer's red kettles full of donations in Colbert county. Police say the thief struck when the bell ringer took a break at the Muscle Shoals Wal-Mart.

Investigators are currently looking at security tapes to see if they can identify the man.

Salvation Army officials say, "It is disappointing to have this happen days before Christmas."

The kettle was believed to have 300 to 500 dollars at the time theft.
