MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Not all Republicans are praising the decision by Rep. Parker Griffith of Huntsville to switch from the Democratic to Republican Party.
A Republican candidate for governor, State Treasurer Kay Ivey, is criticizing Griffith's change of heart.
She says political expediency is an insult to the workers who help candidates get elected. And she says political self-preservation isn't a virtue.
Griffith denies that his decision to switch parties has anything to do with politics. He says it's a reflection of his own values.
