BOAZ, AL (AP) - Authorities are investigating the theft of a hearse that was taken from a Marshall County funeral home and abandoned in neighboring DeKalb County over the weekend.

Boaz Police Chief Terry Davis said Monday the 2006 Cadillac hearse, valued at $48,000, was taken from McRae Funeral Home on Saturday.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department found the vehicle on a county road near the Rodentown community and Belchers Gap and returned it to the funeral home.

No suspects are known at this time.
