Selma officer punished for on duty sex

SELMA, Ala. (AP) - The Selma Police Department says an officer has been punished for having sexual relations while on duty.

Police Chief William T. Riley III says the unidentified officer has not been terminated.

The officer had been accused of rape. A grand jury investigated the charge and found it to be false.

The Selma Times-Journal reports that department spokesman David Evans says the officer has been assigned to a desk job.
