Athens, AL (AP) - A 13-year-old Limestone County boy is recovering from surgery at Huntsville Hospital after a gunshot to the abdomen.
Sheriff's Department Chief Investigator Stanley McNatt tells the Decatur Daily in a Thursday story that the victim and a 14-year-old boy were playing with a .22-caliber rifle. He said the 14-year-old accidentally fired the gun and the victim was shot.
The shooting occurred at a home Wednesday evening. It is under investigation.
