MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Less than two weeks into 2010, police in Montgomery have their work cut out for them.
Chaos ensued after a shooting at 'Club O' on the Eastern Boulevard Saturday night.
James Poole, 17, of Montgomery, and Michael Montgomery, 38, of Coosada, died. Two other victims were injured after a fight between two groups of people got out of hand.
"Who knows what kind of drugs whoever was on coming into the establishment. It was just messed up," exclaimed Michael Morris, who worked with Montgomery, the club's security guard.
"I think people are just losing their minds," said another bystander.
The scene was so hectic, police are still trying to get the story straight and figure out exactly how the shootings went down.
"We're trying to interview as many people as we can to see who saw what happened," explained Major Huey Thornton of the Montgomery Police Department.
Across town, police investigated another pair of murders without a suspect.
James Lett, 34, and Andrea Pruitt, 28, were killed when someone entered a home on Michigan Avenue Saturday morning.
Police say the killer (or killers) searched for something in the house and opened fire. Authorities consider the crime drug related.
Friends don't know what to think.
"That's the only best friend I had in the world. I could call her. Now she's gone. No calling her, texting her, anything, and she didn't deserve it," said Pruitt's friend, who wished to remain anonymous.
Authorities are waiting for forensic testing to come back but say they need help from witnesses to sort out the details and name suspects in the crimes.
