Emergency landing at Newark airport

NEWARK, NJ (WSFA) - Passengers from a United Airlines flight are safe after the plane was forced to make an emergency landing in New Jersey.

The jet made the emergency landing at Newark Liberty International Airport when its right rear landing gear failed to deploy properly.

The incident created delays of about an hour for departing flights.

All 53 people aboard the plane got off safely.

Newark was the flight's scheduled destination.
