FLORALA, AL (WSFA) - In the midst of the state wide controversy over bingo, another south Alabama town is closer to starting its own bingo operation.
The Florala city council has adopted an ordinance to regulate electronic bingo.
According to the Mayor, state law allows bingo in Covington County.
However, this ordinance is for inside city limits.
If a bingo facility were to open in Florala, city officials estimate at least $697,000.00 in revenue the first two years and over a million each year after that.
