Statue of Jesus Stolen

Officials at Catholic Social Services in Tuscaloosa are wondering who stole the statue of Jesus from their grounds. The statue was the centerpiece of a high school student's Eagle Scout project. Sister Carol Gray is director of the organization. She says the thief may have thought the statue was made of bronze, but it's made of fiber glass.

The Tuscaloosa News says Holy Spirit Catholic Regional School sophomore Joseph Latham worked for months to revitalize the grounds for his Eagle Scout project. He chose the $400 statue from a Catholic church supply store in Missouri. The statue depicts Jesus sitting with a baby in his lap, a child at his side and another at his feet. It is 32 1/2 inches high and about 32 inches wide. ---
