MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Alabama Attorney General Troy King's office has thrown a wrench into the city of Florala's plans to jumpstart electronic bingo.
King's office delivered a letter to Florala city attorney Wes Laird Thursday verifying that the city council does not have the authority to legalize gambling inside its jurisdiction.
The Covington County Commission has chose not to legalize gambling. However, the Florala city council unanimously approved the measure Tuesday.
