Enterprise PD arrests man on attempted murder

ENTERPRISE, AL (WSFA) - The Enterprise Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with an attempted murder.

Lyndon Montel Phillips, 26, faces Attempted Murder and Assault 3rd Degree charges after the January 8th assault of a female acquaintance in front of Vaughn's Night Club on Daleville Avenue.

Phillips was arrested at a home on Goodson Street just before noon without incident, police said.

A security guard for Vaughn's intervened and had a verbal confrontation with Phillips.  The security guard told police Phillips went to his vehicle and got an assault rifle. Phillips is accused of firing one round in the air before shooting a second round towards the victim.

Police say a total of seven (7) shots were fired.  Three (3) rounds struck the building including one that went through the front door.  No one was injured during the shooting incident.
