Sorority Asking for help to help victims in Haiti

This is a news release.

SELMA, AL.- With temperatures dipping into the teens, all Alabamians have been warned to take precaution, but one organization has decided to take action.  The members of the Zeta Eta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated are hosting a blanket drive called, "Cover Selma."  The purpose of "Cover Selma" is to collect brand new blankets for individuals and families in need in the Selma and Dallas County area.

In addition, due to the massive earthquake that struck the nation of Haiti, causing catastrophic damage, the Zeta Eta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated will also be collecting monetary donations for the Haitian Disaster Relief Fund.

The drive is scheduled to take place Saturday, January 23, 2010 from 9:00a.m. to noon.  Residents can make monetary donations (to benefit the Haitian Disaster Relief Fund) or blanket donations at WBFZ 105.3 (1501 Jeff Davis Avenue Selma, Alabama), Calhoun Foods (415 Jeff Davis Avenue Selma, Alabama), Family Dollar (1007 Broad Street Selma, Alabama) and Selma Mall (1391 E Highland Selma, AL.).

An event flyer is attached.
