One killed, seven injured in Mosses crash

MOSSES, Ala. (AP) — Alabama State Troopers say one person was killed and seven others were injured when a vehicle overturned in the town of Mosses in Lowndes County.

Spokesman Sgt. Steve Jarrett said Tuesday that 25-year-old Wendy Necole Johnson, 25, of Hayneville, was killed Monday evening when the Nissan Pathfinder she was driving overturned.

Jarrett says Johnson and all of the passengers were ejected from the vehicle. None was wearing a seatbelt or a child restraint device at the time of the crash.

Three of the passengers were children. All victims have been identified.

They are: Rico Johnson, 21; Tykira Johnson, 8; Debra McCall, 39; Jaquarian Hutson, 7; Laneasha Towns, 24; Ladelle Towns, 2; and Eddie Simpson, 40, all of Hayneville.
