MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery residents saw an internationally acclaimed magician disappear before he even showed up in the capital city.

David Copperfield was to appear in Montgomery on January 26, but a tour focusing heavily on the South has been canceled. Other destinations included Miami, Pensacola, Jacksonville, and Atlanta.

Bill Lang, spokesman for the Montgomery Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center, confirmed the Copperfield cancellation to WSFA 12 News.

No reason was given for the decision.

Those who purchased a ticket should contact their point of purchase (example: Ticket Master) for a refund.
