City council looking to curb speeding in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The capitol city is now looking into new equipment to catch speeders.

Tuesday night "Lasercraft" gave the Montgomery city council a presentation on its equipment.

Under the proposal, the city would use vans to clock your speed.

The equipment also takes a picture of your vehicle, records your speed and mails you a ticket.

There are also signs warning drivers of the speed checking devices.

Before the city council can sign off on the measure, state lawmakers would have to change the law.
