Walmart cuts more than 10,000 jobs across U.S.

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - More than 10,000 jobs cut at Sam's Club locations across the country; employees got the grim news Sunday morning.

The company is outsourcing its product-sampling department to a marketing company called "shopper events."

The CEO of Sam's Club sent a memo to staffers, telling employees that they are "invited to apply for those jobs."

The cuts represent about 9% of Sam's Club's staff.
