Auburn students lend a hand to Haiti relief efforts

Auburn, AL (WSFA) - Auburn University students are lending a hand to Haiti relief efforts.

Monday, February 1, 2010, students, in conjunction with the Red Cross will host a charity benefit dinner called "A Meal to Heal" from 5:00 - 9:00 PM in the Auburn University Student Center Ballroom.

The dinner will feature a home-cooked dinner courtesy of Pannie-George's Restaurant in Auburn.

Tickets are $5, and all proceeds will go the Red Cross's earthquake relief efforts.

Organizers report that the 2,000 tickets are selling fast.

Auburn University students may purchase them on campus at tables set up outside the Student Center.

The University's Committee of 19, a student leadership group for the War on Hunger, is also donating $15, 000 to the United Nations World Food Program for Haiti relief.
