Progress 65 in Montgomery continues to move forward

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Work continues on construction of additional lanes on Interstate 65. During the next several months, the Clay Street, Herron Street, and Day Street ramps to and from I-65 may be closed at various times during the night.

Additionally, the ramps from I-65 to I-85 may be reduced to one lane, but, will remain open.

These closures and lane reductions are required to allow construction crews to make repairs to the concrete pavement in these areas. The closures will begin nightly at 7 p.m. and end by 6 a.m. the following morning.

The Montgomery Police Department will be involved to assist with traffic control. Moderate delays should be expected as a result of these lane closures.

Construction on this segment of the Progress 65 project is scheduled to be complete in the next several months. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this construction to improve Alabama's roadways.
