Home sales tumble in December

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Sales of previously occupied homes took the largest drop last month in more than 40 years.

The National Association of Realtors report says the sales of existing homes fell 16.7% from November to December.

Experts say part of the reason for the decline was the extension on the first-time homebuyers tax credit.

They believe the extension took some of the urgency away from prospective buyers.
