MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Beasley Allen Law Firm presented representatives from Harriet's House in Demopolis, Ala., with a Wii gaming system today.
Harriet's House is the first recipient chosen for the firm's ongoing "Wii Give Back" campaign. The campaign will give one Wii gaming system to a deserving Alabama charity each month in 2010.
"Harriet's House is thrilled to have been chosen by the Beasley Allen Law Firm for its Wii Give Back Program as the January winner," said Susanna Smith-Naisbett, Executive Director. "The provision of safe entertainment for the children and adults that reside at Harriet's House can be challenging, at best. I know this gaming system will be the source of a lot of in-shelter fun, and will bring a smile to many faces. I want to thank Beasley Allen for reaching out and giving back to those in need in Alabama in such a positive way."
Harriet's House is a not-for-profit shelter for victims of domestic abuse, and serves people throughout West Alabama and beyond.
"We are especially glad to have the opportunity to help children in a crisis situation," said Tom Methvin, Managing Shareholder of Beasley Allen. "By providing them with Wii games, Harriet's House can help ease a very painful time in their lives."
Charities from throughout the state, including Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile and Dothan are eligible for the Wii Give Back program.
