MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery Public School Board of Education calls a special meeting this morning at 9:00 a.m. to discuss the lawsuit case involving the former Superintendent Clay Slagle and Board President Beverly Ross.
In late December 2009, Beverly Ross went on the record accusing two other board members of violating policy surrounding a lawsuit filed by Clay Slagle.
Ross said, "board members Meadows and Snowden violated policies when they hired Snowden's husband to represent them in the lawsuit against the board."
Meadow and Snowden responded to Ross accusations saying they did meet with Slagle and his attorney. Their attorney, Frank Snowden filed a motion for a meeting to keep it on public record.
Ross then requested for Meadow and Snowden to fire Frank Snowden, but both members said, "we will not fire their appointed legal counsel."
During the meeting this morning, we should learn if criminal charges will be filed against board members for obstruction of government operations.
Expect an update during the WSFA 12 News at noon.
