Judge Eugene Reese dismissed the case "Clay Slagle v Beverly Ross, et. al." Thursday afternoon.
"We are very pleased with the judge's ruling," said MPS Board President Beverly Ross. "We were confident that we were following the law. We believe his quick response reinforces our position that we were following the guidelines outlined in the act."
Slagle maintains that the board held illegal meeting at least twice in 2009.
"I am happy to put this matter is behind us," said MPS Superintendent Barbara W. Thompson. "We need to focus on the reason we exist – to help children achieve and to move the system forward."
