PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) - The Autauga County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday the arrest of a Deatsville man on numerous sodomy charges.

Oscar Lee Wingo, 64, is charged with twenty counts of alleged Sodomy 1st Degree. Investigators say the counts stem from actions stretching over "several years".

Investigators from the Autauga County Sheriff's Office with the assistance of Alabama Power, Security Division, and the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, executed an arrest warrant Wednesday in Shelby County where Wingo is employed.

"This is an extremely delicate case that not only involved the victims and families, but also for members of the community and investigators," said Sheriff James "Herbie" Johnson.

Captain Jim Steele, with the Investigations Division at the Sheriff's Office, followed up the Sheriff's comment by stating "We don't just go home at night and not think about such traumatic events. This is a difficult issue for all of us!"

Sheriff Johnson indicated that investigators will continue to diligently pursue all leads in this case and encouraged anyone from the public to come forward should there be other unidentified victims in this case.

Bond for Wingo, who as of this writing was still incarcerated at the Autauga Metro Jail, was set at $1,000.000.00.
