Alabama holds off Auburn for 55-53 win

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Tierney Jenkins collected 17 points and 13 rebounds and LaToya King had a steal in the final seconds, helping Alabama hold on for a 55-53 win over rival Auburn on Sunday.

The Crimson Tide (10-14, 2-9 Southeastern Conference) blew most of a 12-point lead in the final minutes but managed to snap a four-game losing streak. The Tigers (12-12, 3-8) have now lost six of their last seven games.

Alabama went up 55-43 with 5:12 left on Jenkins' fast-break layup but the Tide didn't score again. Alli Smalley hit a free throw and then a layup to cut Auburn's deficit to two points with 46 seconds left. Auburn's Jordan Greenleaf rebounded a missed basket but King stole the ball with a second left to preserve the win.
