AUBURN, AL (WSFA) - An investigation is underway in Lee County where a man was run over and killed by a dump truck.

Auburn Assistant Police Chief, Tommy Dawson tells WSFA 12 News sister station WTVM 9 they responded to an accident call around 1:15pm Monday.

When officers arrived on the scene near Farmville Baptist Church on Lee County Rd 72 they learned a dump truck driver had backed over an employee while he was working on a road asphalt project.

Police say both the driver of the dump truck and the victim worked for East Alabama Paving.

The victim's name is not being released while police try to contact family members.

The accident remands under investigation, but Chief Dawson says no charges are expected against the dump truck driver.
