ASU Theatre Dept. set for "A Soldier's Play"

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Alabama State University's Department of Theatre Arts is getting ready to lift the curtain on "A Soldier's Play".

The play is a 1982 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama written by Charles Fuller and directed by Brian Martin, who last directed the hit Broadway musical "Smokey Joe's Café."

"A Soldier's Play" is an explosive exploration of self-acceptance, traditional ideology and hope.

Performances are set for February 17 through 20, at 7 p.m in the Leila Barlow Theatre on ASU's campus.

Tickets are $8 for general admission and $6 for ASU students.

Another performance will be held on Feb. 21, at 7:30 p.m. also in the Leila Barlow Theatre. Tickets are $4 for general admission and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets.
