MOODY, AL (AP) - Four men are charged with felony murder and a fifth was shot and killed by the resident during an alleged home invasion.

Authorities say the men were armed with baseball bats when they entered a home in the Trails End community just before midnight Thursday.

St. Claire County Sheriff's Department Capt. Billy Murray identified the four suspects as 19-year-old Mark Lyle Massey, 20-year-old Nicholas Bell, 18-year-old Richard Allen Holloway and 21-year-old Duel Wayne Pope.

Massey and Bell are from Trussville while Holloway and Pope are from Leeds.

St. Clair County Coroner Dennis Russell said 19-year-old Robert Joseph Denton of Moody was killed.

The home's resident sustained non-life threatening injuries.
