EUFUALA, Ala. (AP) - Walmart is expanding a Eufaula store, adding 140 positions in the process.
A new supercenter will open by March 10 in the community of about 13,000 residents situated near 45,000-acre Lake Eufaula.
Walmart spokeswoman Katie Johnston says the new store will have a full line of groceries and an expanded electronics department.
The store's total payroll will be 300 full- and part-timers.
The expansion of Walmart in Eufaula, located about 45 minutes south of Columbus, follows the closing of the Goodys clothing store there in 2009. The chain shut down all of its stores after failing to complete a Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization.
