Americans released from Haitian jail

PORT-AU-PRINCE, HAITI (WSFA) - Eight of the ten American missionaries charged with kidnapping in Haiti have been freed.

The Idaho-based group arrested last month for trying to take more than thirty children to the Dominican Republic without proper documents.

The judge set them free with no conditions after parents testified they voluntarily handed their children over to the missionaries.

The judge did not release the group leader and her nanny.

He said he wants to speak to them about their trip to Haiti in December before the earthquake.
