Prattville native honored for Superbowl win

PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA)- A Prattville native will come home to be honored. Roman Harper a safety with the New Orleans Saints will have a special day in honor of his Super Bowl win.

Prattville Mayor Jim Byard, Jr., announced that the city will host "Roman Harper Day" on February 27, 2010. Harper was an athlete for both Prattville High School and the University of Alabama before he left for the NFL.

"I look forward to seeing and congratulating Roman as he comes home to Prattville," says Mayor Jim Byard, Jr.  "Roman is not only a Super Bowl Champion, but more importantly, he is a role model for both young and old."

The event is opened to family, friends, and supporters at the Doster Memorial Community Center from 10am-2pm. 

Don't forget your football or Saints jersey; Harper will be signing autographs for his fans. The event is free and open to the public. Food from Beef O'Bradys will be onsite for fans to purchase.

There will also be proclamations presented to Mr. Harper starting at Noon.
