Montgomery, AL (WSFA) - Mold was discovered inside a Montgomery School.

School Board President Beverly Ross says the problem at Dozier Elementary first came to light in July, 2009. She tells WSFA 12 News months passed before the board and superintendent learned of the problem.

Ross believes the mold made students and teachers sick.  She says it will be costly to fix, but the system can't afford not to address it. She said, "We have to; we are talking about students. Our main concern is safety, the health of students."

Superintendent Barbara Thompson acknowledged the problem and said the school system is currently working on a plan. WSFA 12 News confirmed the mold problem is now on the board's agenda for Tuesday night's meeting. You can count on WSFA 12 News to be there.
