MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - During Friday's emergency school board meeting Montgomery superintendent Barbara Thompson recommended the board monitor the situation at Dozier Elementary School for now and clean during Spring Break.

The meeting was called to consider actions to be taken after learning of severe mold at Dozier. Engineers say 45 year old equipment and air conditioning outages contributed to severe mold at the school.

At the school board's meeting earlier in the week, members went back and forth on how to proceed, some questioning the $1.8 million price tag to clean 5 classrooms and the school's library.
