MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - An eroded band connecting to a water main burst Thursday morning, causing service outages to 50 or 60 homes along Vaughn Road.

The director of Montgomery's Water Works and Sewer Board says water service has been restored as of Thursday evening.

Buddy Morgan tells WSFA 12 News crews had to dig and fix the problem, located in front of the entrance to the Eastern Forest community.

The band, installed in 1986, "blew up," according to Morgan.
