ENTERPRISE, AL (WSFA) –   It was three years ago that a deadly tornado hit Enterprise.

A lot has happened since that day, a new elementary school has opened and construction on a new high school should be completed this summer.

Three years ago the unimaginable happened at Enterprise High School.

A tornado tore through the school killing 8 students and forever changing the lives of eight families.

Three years after that tragedy those families gathered at the site of the new high school to tour the facility.

"The high school is coming on line this year, and we are getting tornado shelters in these two schools which is a big plus, and it seems like once we got Hillcrest the high school is naturally coming on board at the right time,' said Bob Tomberlin, Administrative Assistant for the Enterprise City School System.

At the site of the old high school a memorial was built to remember those eight students, school officials hope to dedicate it in the coming weeks.
