AUBURN, AL – Karen Hoppa has traveled to La Manga, Spain with the U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team where she is coaching goalkeepers for the Ten Nations Tournament. The tournament is a U-19 competition so the U.S team is playing against players one year older.

Hoppa is a coaching veteran with the U.S teams and is with the U-18 team for the second time this season after going to the U-18 Women's National Team training camp in Carson, Calif., in January.

The team is facing Norway on Monday, March 1, Germany on Wednesday, March 3 and Sweden on Friday, March 5.

The other U-19 teams participating in the competition, which features three friendly matches for each country, are England, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland and Italy.

Selected by head coach Dave Chesler, Hoppa has a wealth of experience with US Soccer. She was previously a goalkeeping coach alongside Chesler for the April 2009 U-18 WNT camp and was the US National Youth Goalkeeper Coordinator from 2001-04. She has also coached the 2004 U-17 Team, the U-10 team from 2001-03, which won the 2002 World Cup Championship, the 2000 U-18 National Team and the U-16 National Team from 1999-00.
