AUBURN, AL (WSFA) -- Times are changing at Auburn University. The men's basketball team will play its final game at Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum Wednesday night.
It will all end just the way it began, with the man who made the very first basket at beard-eaves coliseum back in 1969, Wally Tinker, shooting the very last basket after the game. The night will conclude with a special highlight video of unforgettable moments spanning the 42 year history of Beard-Eaves Coliseum.
The next basketball game the Auburn Tigers play at home will be in the new Auburn arena. The new $60 million facility will also be used for gymnastics, concerts, and graduation ceremonies.
The fate of Beard-Eaves Coliseum remains undecided, as of now. There have been talks of replacing it with a parking deck or green space, but no final plans.
Tonight's game between Auburn and Mississippi State tips off at 7:00 PM and will be televised, check you local listings for the channel.
