Fire kills five in Selma

MARION JUNCTION, Ala. (AP) - A mobile home fire in Marion Junction has claimed the lives of five people, including three children.

The Selma Times-Journal reports Saturday that authorities had not yet contacted the next of kin or identified the five, who were found in the structure on County Road 188.

Dallas County Sheriff Harris Huffman said the bodies of a man, woman and three children, ages 3, 6 and 7, were sent to the state forensics lab.

The sheriff said all indications point to the fire being an accident and that an investigation is continuing.

Huffman said a neighbor noticed the fire and called 911 shortly after midnight. Volunteer firefighters and deputies responded.
