Montgomery, AL (WSFA) - Over 300 prom dresses were collected this year for students who may be experiencing tough times in the economy.
The 2010 Prom Dress Drive more than doubled its collection in a one year time span. Thanks to the support of the community, this years' event will be open to anyone who may need a prom dress, but simply cannot afford one.
On Thursday, March 18, 2010 all dresses will be given away at the ASU Acadome (back entrance) from 2p.m-6p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Dresses will be limited to one per female. Girls will be able to pick and try on dresses during this time.
All dresses were donated from the River Region community and cleaned by Jim Massey Cleaners. Other partners of the event include Hot 105.7, ABC 32, and Montgomery's CW.
Come witness a remarkable event as females get the opportunity to pick a dream dress for free. For more information contact Julie Joyner at (334) 264-7318 or Taylor Bryant at (334) 274-6440.
