ENTERPRISE, AL (WSFA) – As the 2010 campaign season starts to heat up the candidates for Alabama Attorney General met to discuss some of the biggest issues facing the state.
The two republican candidates Troy King and Luther Strange debated the issues at the Coffee County Republican Women's Meeting.
Both agreed some of the biggest issues in the Alabama are better immigration law and ethics reform but the topic that caused the most buzz was bingo.
Both told the audience they'd like to see a vote on the issue in the future however each disagreed on what the role of the attorney general is in the matter.
"The job of the attorney general is to enforce the law that we have on the books right now, we can't take a look at a complicated issue it clearly is," said Luther Stange.
"I have been in Montgomery a long time, and I can't think of a time we greater mishandled an issue than we have this, we have armed stand offs in Greene county, we have got Macon county closed and then reopened, the law is not clear," said current Attorney General Troy King.
Both say if elected they'll solve that problem.
