Police identify woman, 69; Dothan's first murder victim of 2010

DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - Police in Dothan are identifying the 69-year-old woman, who Wednesday became the city's first homicide victim of 2010.

The woman is Grace Bell Bridges, owner of Dederts Furniture and Antiques on South Park Avenue.

A customer discovered Bridges unresponsive around 2:15pm. Police confirmed the lady suffered a single gunshot wound to the torso and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Now, a reward is being offered for information leading to her murder's arrest. The District Attorney's office is offering $10,000 and Crimestoppers is adding another $1,000. Call the Dothan Police Department if you have any information.

Violent crimes investigators are combing the scene for evidence.

Neighbors say when the left at 1:00pm they saw the victim's car alone in the parking lot.
