Prattville, AL (WSFA) - Seventh grade might not be for everyone, but it's perfect for Prattville Junior High teacher Tony Camara. "The students are full of surprises and energy," Camara said. "People always ask me, 7th grade? And I say yes I'm a 7th grade teacher and I love it."
He's taught at Prattville Junior High for 3 years and has spent 10 years in the classroom overall. He also coaches baseball and football. The parent who nominated him for the Class Act award says he truly believes in his children, and he provides constant praise and encouragement. "I try to make it relevant to something going on in their life, because they really do seem to get it better."
So what keeps him coming back with the same energy day after day? "The moment they really get it, and you can see it in their eyes, that's pretty cool."
He's pretty cool himself. Mister Tony Camara from Prattville Junior High School is a real Class Act.
