Man shot at West Montgomery gas station

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A 25-year-old man suffered several gunshot wounds Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly told a man he didn't have any money.

The victim, not named, said he was walking between a furniture store and the Stop N Go gas station at the corner of Court Street and East Delano Avenue.

The victim said he was approached by a man who asked him for money. When the victim said he didn't have any, the suspect pulled a gun and shot him once in the shoulder and once in the leg.

The victim is expected to recover. The man's injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police are interviewing several witnesses, including a WSFA 12 News employee who dialed 911 after the shooting. The gas station is across the street from the WSFA 12 News studios.

Police tell WSFA 12 News they do not believe the shooting was a random act,
